    The Challenge

    Baa Bar are an award winning late bar group with funky, highly successful city centre bars in major cities. The Directors recognised that continued growth and expansion would only be delivered by investing in the management team and they decided to recruit and appoint a Head of Operations to strengthen the management team. Having worked unsuccessfully with traditional recruitment agencies who produced numerous CVs of people who had potential on paper but who were not the right ‘fit’ for the business, the Directors decided they needed a different approach, and following a strong recommendation, engaged Innergy on an exclusive basis to fill the role.

    The Solution

    Innergy invested significant time to understand the role, the company and its culture. This involved:

    • Visiting the bars (!) to understand the brand
    • Interviewing the Directors and employees of the business what and who would succeed in the role
    • Developing a comprehensive candidate briefing document

    Innergy then developed a bespoke sourcing strategy to ensure the widest possible pool of potential candidates was aware of the role. This involved a combination of online advertising, targeting specific organisations and individuals, and tapping into relevant networks and contacts. Innergy implemented a rigorous candidate selection process including CV review, phone and face to face interviews. Shortlisted candidates were profiled to understand in depth the personality, and potential strengths and weaknesses.

    The Outcome

    Within a short period Innergy presented a shortlist of candidates to be interviewed including a successful applicant, who proved to be a perfect fit for the role and the business. Having invested so much effort in understanding the role and the business, Innergy were easily able to eliminate not only the candidates who lacked the experience and skills, but also those who would not ‘fit’, saving the Directors significant time. Innergy also sat in all interviews and helped obtain references for the successful applicant.
