Case Study: White Building Services
White Building Services are one of the leading construction businesses in the North West, specialising in innovative and award winning construction solutions and housing regeneration schemes. White Building Services have established a reputation for excellence over 80 years of trading, through a combination of passion for their people, a commitment to quality and a dedication to technical growth. As a result of the growth of the business, Mark Dawson was appointed as Operations Director of the Projects Division and promoted to the management board. Innergy were asked to support Mark in developing his effectiveness as a Board member and Director of the largest division within the group.
Mark worked with an Innergy coach over the first 12 months of Mark’s appointment as Director, meeting on a monthly basis to coach and support Mark as he:
- Developed his strategy for growth
- Established himself on the Board
- Took responsibility for and developed a significant sized team
- Instigated change across the division
Over the course of the year Mark:
- delivered growth of 33% in a difficult market
- implemented significant process improvement across the division which was recognised by external auditors
- restructured the team and developed a positive, dynamic and results focused culture within the Division
- implemented a structured communication plan which enhanced team effectiveness
- developed new behavioural habits which enhanced personal effectiveness such as activity management and systematic performance reviews
- established himself as a key Board member, comfortable in his ability to contribute and influence the business
