Innergy has joined forces with the leading centre for circus skills development with physical theatre in Europe, Circomedia, to develop a uniquely inspiring human development workshop, known as circusworks™. Focusing on collaborative, action-centered training, circusworks™ enables participants to identify and exercise both the personal and team skills required to achieve their full potential. The workshop is designed for anyone who wants to:
Whilst always fun and highly interactive, each of the circusworks™ workshops vary in their content, taking into account the roles of the participants, their personal fitness levels, and personal or team objectives of the participants' sponsoring employer, such as: Juggling and General Circus SkillsUnderstanding how to control your patience and learn from your mistakes (and others' successes) from juggling with clubs, rings, balls, and diabolos, though to stiltwalking and unicycles. Acrobatic BalancingLearning how to use the core skills of teamwork and trust to make "human pyramids" supporting each other's weight. ClowningAllowing yourself to let yourself go, open up to others and show your true "inner clown", through alternative communication techniques and humour. Trapeze & AerialDeveloping your courage and stretching your personal comfort zones using Static Trapeze, Swinging Trapeze, Corde Lisse and Flying Trapeze. All circus activity is co-ordinated by our staff of highly experienced circus trainers, whilst the development side of the workshop is facilitated by the Innergy team of trainers and coaches. circusworks™ programs are held throughout the year at Circomedia's unique base in the heart of Bristol at St Paul's Church, Portland Square, Bristol. Following a £2.3 million Heritage Lottery Grant. this 18th century church has been painstakingly restored by the Church's Conservation to its former glory while providing all the modern comforts a 21st century arts centre needs with the installation of a purpose built permanent flying trapeze rig and sprung dance floor. This is the first development of its kind in Europe and it has created an exceptional space for circus based training. |
