Case Study: UK Registered Charities
UK Registered Charities

"I already feel a lot more focused on where to concentrate my efforts to get more out of work and for it to get more out of me ..."

In England and Wales alone there are just under 170,000 registered charities, each vying to raise as much financial and practical support as they can for their chosen cause.

In broad terms these charities perform three key services:

  • provide help
  • represent or campaign
  • provide resources such as grants or volunteer help

Charities have three main types of beneficiary group:

  • individuals - including the elderly, children etc
  • institutions - including hospitals, schools etc
  • the environment - including the conservation of land, animals etc.

With limited time and funding opportunities, the opportunity and resources to be spent on training key employees within these charities is often overlooked or placed far down the priority list.

In line with Innergy's core values of supporting the community within which they work, Innergy offered employees of all registered UK charities the chance to attend a free, full day business development workshop in London, focusing on the development of key fund raising skills.

The workshop facilitated by Innergy was interactive, fun but very poignant to the key challenges faced by many of these fund raising professionals in the charitable sector.

The feedback from all the attendees on the day was excellent, with each delegate being provided with a series of follow up action plans to implement immediately back within their charities.

It also provided a number of charitable professionals the opportunity and forum to discuss some of the key challenges they were facing in their roles and to share best practice ideas across the delegates from different charities.

"The training gave a great insight into how we currently work and gave some really practical tips on how we can work more effectively from innovation-building techniques to the best way to order tasks.

The trainer was really knowledgeable yet very open to new suggestions too. We all felt really comfortable to put forward ideas and opinions and we learnt a lot from the other members of the group too.

I personally already feel a lot more focused on where to concentrate my efforts to get more out of work and for it to get more out of me!"
